Like the Energizer bunny, this bull market keeps going, and going, and going…
After starting the day with gains, the major indices traded at record levels for most of the morning.
This time it was the DOW leading the way. The DOW got a nice boost from Boeing (BA) after the company reported record jet deliveries and an order backlog that is equalivent to 7 years of production! Boening finished the day with a 2.7% gain.
The S&P and NASDAQ ending higher, but came close to finishing lower with a retreat into the close. Clinging to 0.1% gains for the session, the S&P and NASDAQ extended their 2018 win-streak 6 straight days.

Here’s where the major indices ended the day:
- The S&P finished 0.1% higher. Up 4 points, the S&P ended at 2,751.
- The DOW ended with a 0.4% gain. Adding 103 points, the DOW closed at 25,386.
- The NASDAQ was up 0.1%. With a 6 point gain, the NASDAQ finished at 7,164.
- Bitcoin was down 2.4%. Losing $363, Bitcoin is trading at $14,537.
Crude Oil (CL) rocketed higher and ended the day with its best close in over 2 years. With a 1.9% gain, CL finished at $62.93 a barrel.
Target (TGT) was up 2.9% after lifting their profit forecasts because of a jump in holiday sales. And Amazon (AMZN) caught yet another upgrade, this time from Piper Jaffrey with a price target of $1,400. With a 0.5% gain AMZN ended the day with a new record. Speaking of Amazon, Toyota (TM) announced it will be including Amazon Alexa in their cars.
Crypto-craziness continued today. This time thanks to Eastman Kodak (KODK)…YES Kodak!
The former DOW stock announced a new cryptocurrency called KODAKcoin, which naturally doubled the stocks value (up 119.3% on the day).
Looking at the economic calendar we have Import Prices at 8:30am ET and Crude Oil Inventories at 10:30am ET.
