It was another wild trading day.
Not quite the 1,000 point moves we’ve seen in the DOW recently. But there was still plenty of action with the DOW trading in a 500 point range from high to low.
It looked like a pretty strong day until late morning. But after the strong start, the major indices sold off with the NASDAQ leading the way. Then another sell-off into the close sent the major indices to session lows.

Here’s where the major indices ended the day:
- The S&P finished with a 0.5% loss. Down 13 points, the S&P ended at 2,682.
- The DOW ended 0.1% lower. Dropping 19 points, the DOW closed at 24,893.
- The NASDAQ was down 0.9% With a 64 point loss, the NASDAQ finished at 7,052.
- Bitcoin was up 6.7%. Adding $505, Bitcoin is trading at $8,060.
Crude Oil (CL) was up 0.6% with an official close of $63.77 a barrel. But after the session close, CL dropped and is now trading at $61.73 a barrel. Speaking of Crude Oil, for the first time in history the U.S. has passed Saudi Arabia in oil production.
Holy snap! Elon Musk’s Roadster isn’t the only thing rocketing higher…
Snap (SNAP) entered the stratosphere after a huge revenue beat. SNAP ended the day with a whopping 47.6% gain! Twitter (TWTR) traders loved the move, with TWTR finishing higher by 6.6%. They’re reporting tomorrow morning.
Chipotle (CMG) continues to struggle. CMG lost another 10.5% today after reporting mediocre results. Wynn (WYNN) investors are relieved after Steve Wynn stepped down as CEO. The stock jumped 8.6% today on the news.
Tesla (TSLA) put on quite the show last night, and they’re set to deliver quarterly results after the bell.
Tomorrow will be another busy earnings day. We have T-mobile (TMUS), Regeneron (REGN), Twitter (TWTR), Philip Morris (PM), Tyson (TSN) and CVS (CVS) to name a few that report in the morning. And Nvidia (NVDA) will report after the close.
Looking at the economic calendar, we have Unemployment Claims at 8:30am ET.
